ST. HELIERS BAY NOTES.
SOCCER TEAM'S SUCCESS. ACCOMMODATION FOR BATHERS. The Tamaki Association football team has como out at tho head of the list in tho B section of the third grade championship and will play tho winners of tho A section for the cup. The team has shown consistently good form throughout the season. On Saturday a practice match was played. Tho Tamaki Road Board has decided to build tho ladies' portion of the bathing pavilion and only tho walls of tho men's pavilion. This decision has been rendered necessary by tho recent defeat of the board's l6an poll. The now clerk to tho Tamaki Road Board, Mr. Goodman, takes up his duties to-day. Tho campaign for the restoration of the ferry service still continues. A sum of nearly £7OO yearly in season tickets has already been promised by Kohimarama residents, and St. Heliers Bay is likely to follow suit. The committeo dealing with the subject .suggests 12 trips to the city daily as follow: 7 a.m., 8.10 a.m., 9.30 a.m. 10.30 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5.20 p.m., 6 p.m., 6.30 p.m., 7.15 p.m., 8.30 p.m. and 11.15 p.m. Tho erection of much-needed extensions to tho Kohimarama School is to be put in hand in a fow weeks time. Tho Road Board's proposal to tako a portion of tho reserve at St. Heliers Bay for road-widening purposes was considered at a public mooting of residents last week, and a committee waited on the board subsequently in regard to the matter. Tho objections of a number of residents to the taking of any portion of tho reserve for this purpose was placed before members, and Mr. McArthur then explained the position from tho board's point of view. Considerable discussion followed.
