American and Argentine advices have given the market a firmer tone, and sellers are asking from Is to 2s advance, but buyers arc holding oil at the moment. Parcels arc strong, shippers' prices being from Is to 2s higher, but no business is recorded. Liverpool futures: October, lis s|d per cwt; December, 10s 11-^d. BUTTER AND CHEESE. The following cablegram from London, dated August 7, has beon received by Messrs. Allen and Findlay:—New Zealand butter, 1965, market firm; Australian, 190s to 1925; Danish. 2035.
