AGRICULTURAL RANKS.
INVESTIGATION ABROAD. TWO NAMES MENTIONED. [US TELHGKATH. —OWX CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON. Saturday. It is understood that Mr. P. fL Cox, formerly manager of the Bank of Australasia and chairman of the associated banks, has been asked by tho Government, to visit the United States, Canada, Great Britain and tho Continent to make inquiries on the subject of agricultural banks, the establishment of which it has been urged the Dominiofi should institute. The Primo Minister, Hon. J. G. Coates, in his speech to the New Zealand Farmers' Urnon Conference last week, announced that ho proposed to send two competent men to make full inquiries abroad regarding agricultural banks, and he had already asked Mr. W. J. Poison, president of the union, if ho would go.
