BEQUESTS TO NELSON.
MR. R. B.* JACKSON'S WILL. PLAYGROUNDS FOR CHILDREN. The late Mr. R. B. Jackson, of Nelson, who died recently, has left certain bequests for public purposes. Under his will the executors are instructed, upon tho death of Mrs. Jackson and the happening of certain contingencies, to apply the sum o£ £SOOO for such public and charitable purpose-for the benefit of the city of Nelson as Mrs. Jackson should in writing direct, and, failing direction, in tho purchase of open spaces and playgrounds in or near the city, for the benefit and enjoyment of the young people of the city and its suburbs. Mr. Jackson's will also provides that in certain other contingencies, after the cessor of the various life estates and the paynjent of the bequests and legacies, sot out in the will, the residue of his estate is to be paid to the City Council for providing, equipping and maintaining open spaces and playing grounds for the young people of the city and suburbs.
