[MEETING IN 'AUGUST. AUCKLAND CLUB'S PROPOSAL. There appears to be a very bright prospect of a trotting meeting being held in Auckland during the visit of iho American Fleet in August. Some time ago the Auckland Trottftig Club made application to the Minister 'for Internal Afiairs for per-, mission to hold tho meetinc and in the meantime correspondence has passed between them. TThe Auckland Club is very hopeful of receiving tho permit and have in view tho framing of a specially attractive programme-. Tho stake-money will probably amount to over £4OOO for seven events. The date applied for. for the holding of tho proposed meeting, is, Saturday, August 'i3.
