OVERSEAS TRAVELLING.
THE TOTAL FOR MAY. FEWER TOURISTS ARRIVE. DECREASE IN DEPARTURES.; Overseas travellers reaching Auckland during tho month of May showed a falling off in numbers in comparison with the figures recorded in tho preceding months. This was due largely to tho fact that no immigrant ships arrived at this port during the month, and that the advance of the winter has caused a falling off in the tourist traffic from tho Northern Hemisphere. Travellers from overseas entering the port numbered 876, as compared with 1199 during the corresponding month of last year, a decrease of 323. Compared with April this year there was a decrease of 522. Travellers departing numbered 1305 last month, as against 1449 during May of 1924, a decrease of 144. Compared with April this year there was a decrease of 326.
