BRITISH BOWLING TEAM, NEW ZEALAND TOUR LIKELY. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 5.5 p.m.) . LONDON, May 30. The International Bowls Board has received 16 Scottish and 12 English-nomina-tions for a team of 30 bowlers to tour Australia and New Zealand. It is regarded as certain that the board will next week sanction the tour. Each player will provide £450 to meet his expenses. Passages have been provisionally booked for the team by the Naldera to sail on September 25. It is proposed to play in the capital cities of Australia and New Zealand. At Michigan City, Indiana, "Strangler" Lewis had his revenge in connection with his disputed defeat at the hands of "Big" Munn, of Kansas City, by defeating the latter by three falls to two. Ho thus eliminated one of the three claimants to the championship. At St. Louis Joe Stecher, who lost the heavy-weight championship to Lewis in 1921, defeated Zbyszko by two straight falls. He thus eliminated the second aspirant, Zbyszko was taken to a hospital after tho match suffering from internal injuries, several broken ribs and injuries to his back. MELBOURNE WRESTLING. Porritt, of New Zealand, running for the Achilles Club in the Kinnaird Cup, won the 100 yds. in 10 l-ss. by 7ft Running from scratch in tho 100 yds. open handicap Porritt won the first and second heats, each in 9 4-ss. He failed however to concede Rice, of tho Polytechnic Club, in the final, in which ho was fourth. Rico won in 10s. TENNIS IN ENGLAND. MIDDLESEX CHAMPIONSHIPS, Reuter. LONDON. May 29. In the second round of the mixed doubles at the Middlesex tennis championship meeting Lindop and Miss Robinson defeated Lancaster and Mrs. Melody, 6—1,7—5. CHAMPIONSHIPS AT BRISTOL. In the West of England championships at Bristol Hogan defeated Terry in the singles, 6—o, 6—2. Hogan and Mander defeated Terry and TJtz in. the doubles, 6—3, 6-3.
