ROUND WORLD FLIGHTS.
ZANNI'S ATTEMPT ENDS. BREAKDOWN IN JAPAN. {Received 5.5 p.m.) Router. BUENOS AIRES. May 30. Major Zanni's attempted world flight is' considered here to have ended. It is understood that the organising committee of the flight will shortly adopt a resolution to this effect. A message from the aviator, who is still at Tokio, states that repairs to his machine cannot be completed before July, when the North Pacific weather conditions would necessitate a postponement of the flight until September, in which month the charter of the vessels engaged to patrol the l route will expire. Major Zanni .is the Argentine airman who was attempting to fly round the world. When ho was leaving the water at Or,aka on May 14 in continuation of his flight to Kasumigoura tha tw<o floats of his seaplane broke and the machine overturned. Major Zanni and his companions were not injured, and the machine was towed ashore. DI PINEDO'S PROGRESS. . EXPECTED IN AUSTRALIA. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 5.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE. May 30. The Italian Consul has received a message from Batavia stating that WingCommander the Marches© di Pinedo, who is attempting to fly round the world will fly from Timor Island to •Broome, West Australia. The Aviation Department is arranging to welcome the airman.
