Tho .Pacific Cable Board's steamer Iris returned .to Auckland yesterday morning atter repairing a fault in the Pacific cable near Norfolk Island. The vessel left Auckland on May 20 and cyclonic weathor delayed her arrival at Norfolk Island, which she reached on May 5:4. Tho 'fault in tho cable was located two miles from tho island. After cutting out tho damaged portion and replacing it with two miles of new cabie the Iris left the island for Auckland on Wednesday evening.
