ST. ANDREW'S SOCIETY.
OPENING OF THE SEASON. The first meeting of the season of the St. Andrew's Society was held in the Town Hall concert chamber on Saturday evening. Mr. J. VV. Shaw presided over «, record attendance. In his presidential address Mr., Shaw outlined the society's policy for the season and stressed the necessity for an increased membership. An enjoyable musical programme was submitted. Miss ■ Muriel Barr sung " Caller Herrin " and Miss McMurtree gave a violin solo, " Scottish Airs." jtems %vere also rendered by Messrs. Crawford and Kilgour, and a clever Russian ballet dance was executed by Miss Adelia Davies. Miss Berghan was accompanist. An informal dance concluded a most pleasant evening.
