HOSPITALS' ASSOCIATION.
WORK OF THE EXECUTIVE. SOUTHERN VISITORS DEPART. The administrative machinery of the Hospital Boards' Association of New Zealand was put in motion yesterday by the newly-appointed executive at its first meeting. The president, Mr. W. Wallace, Auckland, occupied the chair. There were also present: Messrs. J. B. Andrew (llawke's Bay), V. Gillanders (Hawera), W. E. Knight (Otago), C. M. Luke (Wellington), J. H. McC'arroll (Kaipara), C. Reed (Ashburton), and R. T. Wrathall (Mangouui). Mr. H. Otley (North Canterbury) was unavoidably absent. Business was done in committee, mattors of general organisation and questions specifically referred back to the executive by the conference, which concluded on tho preceding day, being considered. Steps were taken to carry out the recommendations of the conference. A move was made in the direction of incorporation, and generally to put the association's activities on a permanent basis. The appointment of a secretary and treasurer, solicitor and bankers was dealt with. Visiting delegates were motored to the various beauty spots of the city yesterday morning, and a call was made at the Auckland Infirmary, Epsom. Tho majority of the Southern delegates returned by tho limited express last evening.
