NORTHERN RAILWAY SERVICES.
Sir, —In fairness to the local district traffic manager of tho Ilailway Department I feel it a duty to protest against the letter of "Disgusted," which appears in this morning's issue of your paper. Tho department have granted all and even more than was asked for in the petition in question. "Disgusted" is eyjdently very inexperienced, otherwise ho would not have rushed so hastily into print on a subject of which he has only partial knowledge. Tho deputation presenting the petition were well and favourably received by the local district mail" ager, who expressed his sympathy with the request for the extra trains at Oratia station, with the result mentioned above, for which I take this opportunity of publicly thanking him and stating that tin; deputation have no knowledge ol "Disgusfted," or sympathy with the views expressed in his letter. J. H. Hayes.
