—<g» —• man receives probation. ORDER FOR RESTITUTION. [iSY TELEGRAPH.— rRESS ASSOCIATION.] GREYMOUTH. Monday. Charged with the theft of goods valued at about £4O, the property of his employers, C. Smith, Ltd., Thomas Christopher pleaded guilty. The magistrate took into account the accused's war service and the fact that there were no previous convictions against him, and admitted him to probation for two years, the accused to pay £2O 4s restitution within six months. Frederick James Thomas, a draper, pleaded guilty to receiving stolen goods, and was dealt with similarly.
