ATTACKED BY A BULL.
FARMER'S LUCKY ESCAPE. DOG COMES TO THE RESCUE. [BJ TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORESPONDENT.] NEW PLYMOUTH. Friday. A well-known farmer, residing at Monmouth Road, Mr. Harry Hunt, had a very narrow escapo from serious injury last night. While engaged in his usual farm work he was knocked down by a bull, which endeavoured to gore him. Fortunately Mr. Hunt had the presence of mind to catch hold of the ring in the animal's nose and thus prevented it from using its horns. The enraged animal then altered its tactics, and by using its weight attempted to crush Mr. Hunt, who could not long have maintained the unequal contest. At the crucial moment, however, his dog came on tho scene, and courageously attacking the bull, succeeded in driving it off. Mr. Hunt escaped with very little injury. ___
