PROGRESS OF RAGLAN.

bridge to the domain. SCHEME FOR SEASIDE PARK. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT, ] HAMILTON. Friday. A start has been made on the construction of a reinforced concrete bridge for the Raglan Town Board across the Opotoro\ stream to connect Raglan with the Raglan Domain. The Domain consists of about. 40 acres of sandhills, which it is proposed to plant in trees and develop as a seaside park. The bridge, which was designed by Mr. 0. R. Farrcr, of Hamilton, will be 320 ft. long, and is for foot passengers only, being only 6ft. wide. The difiiculty of constructing approaches on the Raglan side and the sandy nature of the land in the Domain make vehicular traffic undesirable. Rows of pillars 40ft. apart will support the bridge, and between high-water level and the deck of the bridge a clearance of 15tt. will be given for the passage of vessels. The completion of the work will mark the achievement of a scheme that has been under consideration by the'local authorities at Raglan for many years, and it will help to make Raglan a most attractive seaside resort.
