[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN' CORRESPONDENT.'] TE AWAMUTU. Wednesday. The Te Awamutu bowling tournament was brought to a close to-day. The semi-final was played in the morning between Whitiora <{•;. Scott) and To Awamutu (C. Douglas), Rocky Nook (Clarke) drawing the bye. The gam 6 was keenly contested, with the favours going lo Whitiora, who were playing particularly well. The result was: Whitiora, 23: Te Awamutu, It. The final was played in the afternoon between Rocky Nook (Sidler, Ashburv, Miltier, and Clarke), and Whitiora (Harvey, Jenkin, Uiggott, and Scott). The first six heads, two of which were killed, went in favour of Whitiora, who were then 9—3. Tn the next four heads, however, Rocky Nook trot singles. Whitiora had the beit of the exchanges in the. eleventh head, which was hotly contested. Rocky Nook replied with a four on the twelfth, and a two on the thirteenth, making the score: Rocky Nook, 13; Whitiora, 10. From then on Rocky Nook, despite exciting exchanges, held their lead, adding six to their score up to the 19th head, when Whitiora (rot two. The twentieth head, which decided the game, favoured Rocky Nook. Scott, attempted to trail the jack for three, but did not ret it jack full.
