AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE. A fair amount of fcu-<ino: ; s was transacted on the Auckland sharemarket. In New Zealand Government securities inquiry for War Loan, 1938, dropped from £95 7s 6d to £96, but quotations for other issues were unchanged. For inscribed slock holders of tho 1939 issue receded 5» to £96 10s, this being the only change from the previous day's rates in this loai» In commercial debentures Auckland Gas, 1928, sold at £lO2, with further inquiry at thai figure. In banks Nationals of New Zealand at £6 16s were wanted at £6 14s 6d. Holders of New Zealands dropped during tho day from 53s to 52s 9d, with buyers steady at 52s 6d. There was a sale of rights at 31s 4d, late holders asking 31s sd, buyers 31s 3d. Unions of Australia were offered at £l4 Is 6d, a shilling below Tuesday's quotation. In insurances Nationals were in demand at 71s, holders receding to 72s 6d. New Zealands changed hands at 30s lid, with more available at that figure, buyers 30s I,od. There was no response to holders' price of 46s 6(1 for South British. In coals Taupiris were disposed of at 17s 9d, with late buyers offering that figure, hold crs 18s. In gas Atick lands sold at yesterday's figure of 24s bd, while a sale in the contributing issue was recorded at 5s 3d. Late holders asked 5s 4d, with buyers at the sale figure. In miscellaneous lines Taranaki Oils tell off during the day. Holders opened at 31s, sixpence below tho previous day's figure, while there were sales at 31s and 30s 9d at the first call A sale at 30s was recorded at the last call, with holders also down to 30s, while buyers dropped from 30s 3d to 295, Wilsons Cements sold at 31s 6d, tho previous day's figure, late holders asking 325, buyers 31s 3d. In mining Waihis were in demand at the advanced figure oi 255, but holders also rose, quoting 25s 2d at the last call. The following sales took place:—Auckland Gas, 1928 debentures, £102; Bank of New Zealand, rights, 31s 4d; New Zealand Insuranco, 30s lid; Taupiri Coal, 17s 9d; Auckland Gas (ord.), 24s 6d; Auckland Gas (con.), 5s 3d; Taranaki Oils, 31s, 30s 9d, and 30s; Wilsons Cement, 31s 6d.
