LABOUR AND POLITICS.
THE AUCKLAND SEATS. SELECTION OF CANDIDATES. The Auckland Labour Representation Committee has in band the selection of candidates to represent the Labour Party at the general elections. Nominations of those eligible for consideration in the pr< tminary selection ballot were received by the committee last evening, the seats involved being Waitemata, Iloskill, Eden, Auckland West, Central, and East, Parnell, Grey Lynn, and Manukau. It was stated that the selection would take place on March 30, and the names of the approved candidates would be announced later. The question of the selection of candidates for municipal offices is also under consideration, and it is expected that a pronouncement will be made in the course of the next week or ten days.
