LAWYER'S £24,750 FEE.
BIG INDIAN MURDER CASE. EXTREMIST LEADER AT BAR. CALCUTTA. Feb. 28. Mr. C. P. Das, the extreme Nationalist leader, who is a barrister, has accepted a brief at a fee of 330.000 rupees to defend the accused in the murder case at Bombay in which a former Court favourite of Indore is Iho central figure. Highly-placed officers of Indore State are concerned. Mr. Das, who formerly was a leading lawyer in Bengal, has not practised since the beginning of the Non-Co-opcration movement a few years ago. Ilis return to the Bar is regarded as another sign that the Extremists arc abandoning Gandhi's old policy of Non-Co-opcration. At the present rate of exchange 330,000 rupees represent £24,750.
