EDUCATION IN FARMING.
COMMISSION OF INQUIRY. SITTING IN AUCKLAND TO-DAY* A full inquiry into agricultural education in New Zealand is at present being made by a board specially set up for tho purpose. The commission has been requested by the Government to undertake this inquiry, including the extent ta which further instructional facilities ara needed.
The Auckland sitting of the commission commences this morning at 30 o'clock at the Customs Buildings, and will be continued to-morrow, Thursday and possibly Friday. The commission consists of members of the Board of Agriculture, tha Departments of Agriculture and Education, and of the University Senate.
The members are Sir James Wilson (chairman), Messrs. E. Averill, W. B. Grant, D. Marshall, G. L. Marshall, W.Perry, D. W. Westenra, >J. Begg, E. D. McLennan, W. D. Pyke, Dr. A. H. Cockayne (Department of Agriculture), Mr. W. S. La Trobe (Education Department), and the Hon. George Fowlds (University Senate).
Yesterday, members of the commi.-sion inspected the Ruakura State farm, which has been suggested as a site for an agricultural college.
