No change occurred l.his morning in regard to the deadlock between the employers of waterside labour at New Plymouth and the workers. The. union held no meoting, and the employers are still waiting for the. union to give an assurance that the, terms of the award will b.. obeyed through its currency. The men who began putting cheese and general cargo into the, llnriinui on the Saturday before last completed this work to-day, and the, whole of the waterside workers became disengaged. In accordance with the decision of the New Plymouth Waterside Kmplr.xer-»' Union, no call was made this morning for men to load meat, on the Uurunui The secretary of the Waterside Workers' Union stated that 65 men were at the wharf ready to accept work if it were offered. The Hurunui is still the only vessel affected at New Plymouth. The ketch Hira arrived to-day, but her cargo of explosives was consigned Uj the Harbour Hoard, and the removal of it to the. magazine was a matter for the harbour engineer's staff.
