SOUTHERN GRAIN YIELDS.
WHEAT OUTLOOK PROMISING POOR RETURNS FROM OATS. [BY telegraph.—PßESS association.] OAMARU, Saturday. Threshing results so far indicate that the average yield of wheat will greatly exceed earlier estimates. One case :is reported of nearly 62 bushels per acr&j having been obtained from an area of 60 acres, and there are many other good returns. The average for tho who!# country will probably be 30 bushels. Oats are proving a failure.
