OBITUARY.

MRS. MARY SLADE. 'A resident of Auckland for 45 years died recently in the person of Mrs. Mary Slade, at the home of her daughter at Lower Hutt. . Mrs. Slade arrived in New Zealand m the ship May Queen in 1679. She was closely associated with the work of St. Benedict's Palish for over 40 years. Last year, in company with her daughter, Mrs. James Walsh, of Lower Hutt, she visited the graves of her two sons who fell m Franco. Illness overtook her in England . and she returned to New Zealand several vreeks ago but failed to rally. . The interment took place at Karori Cemetery, Wellington. MR. CHARLES BLAKE.
