AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE. There was brisk inquiry for investmentstocks on the Auckland share market yesterday, and a considerable amount of business was done. In Government securities War Loans, 1930, had offers at £96 15s, and sold at £96 17s 6d. The 1938 issue had inquiry at £96 15s, holders being revealed at £97 ss. The 1927 issue changed hands at £97 10s, more being wanted at £97, holders asking £9B. Auckland Hr.rbour Board debentures, 5} per cent., sold at £95 10s, with no further inquiry by buyers. In banks, New Zealands advanced 3d to 53s 3d, buyers remaining unchanged at 52s 6d. Bank of New Zealand Rights eased 6d on Thursday's quotations to 31s 6d, at which price two sales were transacted, buyers advancing their offers Id to 31s sd. Australasias, which were not cjuoted, had sale at £l4 2s 6d. Commercials of Australia (Rights) changed hands at 7s, lato quotations being sellers 7s 9d, buyers 6s 9d, Unions of Australia, which sold on Thursday at £l4 3s, eased at the lato call to £l4 3s, buyers lowering their offers 6d to £l4 Is fid. In insurance New Zealands were unchanged at _ holders 31s, buyers 30s 6di South British firmed 6d to 48s, holders remaining at 47k. l'n coals thero was an easing in Taupiri Preferences, holders receding from 24s 6d on Thursday to 245, buyers steady at 235. Ixi gas, Aucklands were unchanged at holders 255, buyers 24s 9d. In shipping, there were two transactions in Huddart-Parkers at 45s 6d, more being wanted at the enhanced price of 45s 3cL In miscellaneous, British Tobacco had sale at 445, late buyers offering 43s 6d, sellers 44s fid. Burns, Philp and Co. sold at 375, more being sought at 36s 6d, sellers 37s 6d. A sale took place in Wilsons Cement at 30s fid, the rate asked by holders on Thursday, late Sellers quoting 31s, buyers 30s 3d. In mining, Waihis were unaltered at 265, buyers 25s 6d. Offers for Kuranuis dropped 2d to 6d, holders asking Is. Grand Junctions were again quoted by holders at Is Bd, without response.
