OTOROHANGA NOTES.
[by telegraph, —own correspondent.] OTOEOHANGA, Friday The New Zealand Co-operative Herd Testing Association supplies the following figures applying to the Otorohariga group for December:—Highest herd average, 41.56; lowest herd average, 23.05, highest cow, 75.64; lowest cow, 5.40. Settlers on the Ngutanui Road met Mr. E. R. Gould, county engineer, and discussed with him a proposal to metal the road to To R.ni-a-moa, and about two miles of tho Pirongia Road. Tho whole scheme would cost about £9OOO. of which the Main Highways Board would contii bute two-thirds, as this is the main high way from tho railway to Kawhia. It is hoped to form a special rating area, and to have the work well ad\anced befouj the summer ends. At a meeting of the District High School committee it was stated that there were a prospective 40 to 45 pupils for the new term at the High School.
