The'chairman of the Immigration Committee of the House of Representatives, Mr. Johnson, estimates that the total immigration to the United States in the current fiscal year will be about half the net immgration for the preceding 12 months; Mr. Johnson says that Mexican immigration has dropped 60 per cent, and Canadian more than 38 per cent.. Germany is furnishing the greatest number of European immigrants and thtf Irish Free State is second. Deportations have doubled, and the exodus of aliens to Southern Europe and to India and Asia has been greater by 32,000 than the immigration from those parts.
