WORLD'S RECORD DUCK.
CROYDON COMPETITION. Advice has been received from the secretary of the dtick egg-laying competition at Croydon, South Australia, by Mr. I ,?■ Scott, of Avondale South, that his Indian Runner duck, which previously broke the world's record for ducks of 225 t ßps, laid 241 eggs in as many days, thus establishing a new record. The duck then injß&ed one day, but continued laying, iind at tlio date of writing had a total of e .Bß s with two months of the test reaiaimng. One of Mr. Scott's teams of three Indian Runners is at present second in the competition with 710 eggs, and another n > ,V n ls sixth. The leading team, with . ?88 s > and the second bird in the inV i > test 268 eggs, s.re all duck® ®d from Mr. Scott's strain. life
