An undefended divorce case in whicH James Wilkes, of Christchurch (Mr. Singer), petitioned against Clara Emily Wilkes (Mr. Hubble) «ss heard by MrJustice Herdman in tK<a Supreme Court yesterday. i The parties were married in July, 1539. and in 1916 they went to England. Later in that year petitioner stated he found unecessary to return to New Zealand, but his wile refused to accompany him. lie left provision with his brother for hey maintenance, and later he arranged tea. she should have about £SOO which stood to the credit of his bank account at Home. Since then ha had not seen her or heard from her. Full arrangements had beeu made as to her future mamten< ance. There were no children. His Honor granted a decree nisi.
