ELECTRICAL WORKERS.
HIGHER WAGES GRANTED* OTHER MATTERS UNALTERED* ■ The claims of the Auckland Electrical Workers' Union for increased wages and improved conditions of work, were heard yesterday by a conciliation council, tha commissioner, Mr. tP. Hally, presiding. Messrs. M. P. O'Leary, C. M. Speedy, and R. Fitzwilliam were assessors for the union, and Messrs. C. M. Barker, J. A. C. ; Allum and R. C. Robinson, with Mr. S. E. Wrights as agent for the employers. _ A considerable number of applications ,for exemption was dealt with, the result being that those who had obtained exemption under previous awards were treated similarly on this occasion. The wages ot the workers were increased from 2s lid to 2s lOd an hour. The hours and other conditions of work, with some very slight alterations, remain cs in the previous award. The new conditions come infcq operation on March 4 and will continue for 12 months.
