EXCURSIONS TO OPUA.
RAILWAY EXPERIMENT. The Railway Department has arranged to issue week-end excursion tickets from Auckland, Newmarket, Mount Eden, and Whangarei to Opua commencing from tomorrow. This represents another step in the policy of experimenting with excursions from town to town on the railways. The arrangement is at present 110 more than a temporary one and will be discontinued if there is not sufficient traffic to justify it. Tickets from Whangarei will be issued on Fridays and Saturdays and will be available until the following Monday. Tickets from Auckland, Newmarket, and Mount Eden will be issued on Saturdays and will be available until the following Wednesday. An express train leaves Auckland at 8.25 a.m. on Saturdays,, reaching Opua at •6.38 p.m. The return journey may be made on either Mondays or Wednesdays when the express leaves Opua at 8.31 a.m. and reaches Auckland at 6.29 p.m.
