WORK NEAR TE AROHA. EXTENSIVE PROSPECTING. [ET TELEGRAPH.—OWV CORRESPONDENT. ] TE AROHA Wednesday. Hopes of the discovery of gold in payable quantities near Te Aroha are not yet dead. A party of men has been formed with the object? of carrying out extensive prospecting operations on the hills between Waiorongomai and Waihi, at a spot where indications of quartz and alluvial gold were found in former years. Assistance is : desired ' from the Government in cutting a track to the scene of the operations, and a Government subsidy while prospecting is in progress is expected. The Mayor, Mr. R. Coulter, is in communication with the Minister for Mines, Hon. E. J. Anderson, on the subject. MINE MANAGERS* REPORT.
