ROMANTIC LOVE STORY.
SCENES IN PARIS COURT. ACQUITTAL OF ACTRESS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 7.30 p.m.) PARIS. Feb. 8. A classic love story has ended in the law courts by the acquittal of a pretty Polish actress, Stanisl&wa Ur/iinska, who was charged with killing her lover, Jean Zvznowski, a poet. It was stated in evidence that the poet fell in love with the actress, three years ago, and then became the victim of cancer. He was removed to a Paris hospital, whither Stanislawa was summoned. She cancelled all her engagements and hurried to Paris, nursing her lover day and night, and even consented to the transfusion of her blood to enable her lover to withstand an operation. This operation having proved to be of no avail, the man entreated Stanislawa to end his sufferings with & revolver, which he kept concealed beneath his pillow. The girl resisted for a long time, but the spectacle of his agony tortured her, and eventually she'drew the pistol, fired and killed her lover. The Court scenes were most pathetic, women sobbjng, and finally applauding the verdict of acquittal.
