AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE.

Filir business was transacted on the Auckland sharepiarket yesterday;. In Government securities there was general inquiry for War Loans, the 1941 issue selling at £97 7s 6d and the 1927 issue at £97 ss, more being wanted at £97. Selling quotations for the 1938 issue, varied, but closed at £97 12s 6d, 2s 6d higher than the previous day, buyers also advancing 5s to £97 ss. Soldiers' Bonds and Inscribed Stock were again sought at £IOO, sellers of the latter quoting £IOO 15s, In local body debentures more interest was manifested, five issues of Auckland Harbour and three of Auckland City being quoted but there Were no transactions. In banks New Zealands were done at 61s 6d, the previous day's selling quotation, and more on offer at that figure, buyers 61s 3d. Australasias were wanted at £l3 14s, and later at £l3 15s, and Commercials of Australia at 31s, no sellers quoting. In insurance New Zealands were unchanged at 31s 6d and 325. South British buyers advanced from 45s 6d to 45s 9d, no sellers being revealed. Standards had sale at 42s 6d, more being wanted at 42s 3d. Buying offers of 72s 3d for Nationals finally disclosed sellers at 73s 6d. In gas Auckland buyers advanced 3d to 255, sellers firm at 25s 3d. Buyers of the contributing issue entered the market at 5s 6d, later dropping to 5s sd, sellers unchanged at 5s Bd. In miscellaneous sellers of Wilsons Cements were firm at 31s, offers falling from 30s 6d to 30s 3d. In mining Wailn buyers firmed 3d to 25a, sellers remaining at 25s 3d.
