TRAFFIC BY-LAWS BROKEN.
MOTOR-BUS DRIVERS FINED. TIME-TABLES NOT FOLLOWED. A number of 'motor-bus drivers were prosecuted by the chief traffic inspector, Mr. 0. R. Megan, in the Police Court yesterday, before Mr, J. W. Poynton, S.M., for breaches of the traffic by-laws. For failing to follow the time-table, G. PL Boler, W. G. Warwick, and Michael McCarthy were each fined £l. James- Tate was fined £1 for passing a stationary tramear, and a similar penalty was imposed upon Herbert William Cropp for failing to obey a traffic inspector. For failing to supply a driver in his employ with a time-table, J. F. Cunningham was fined £l. Frederick .Tames Brown was fined 10s for having no omnibus driver's license, and T. A. Boler was fined a similar sum for having no conductor's license. A line of 10s was imposed on John D. Stuart for employing an unlicensed driver. Reginald Ncwby was fined 10s for stopping inside a safety zone. For dangerous driving, Alexander Ogilvic (Mr. Inder), was fined £2, and similar penalties were imposed upon two motorists, H. Nightingale . and Laurence Camming* for the same offence, while A. Milne (Mr. Sellar), was convicted;, and ordered to pay costs.
