MaeDiarmid, of Hamilton, has been elected unopposed to fill a vacancy on the Hamilton High School Board of Governors. Mr. Mervyn Wells, of Cambridge, and Messrs. N. Stephenson and W. R. Kirker, of Wellington, arrived yesterday, and art* at the Central Hotel. Captain J. B. Rainey. marine superm* tendent for New Zealand of the Common* wealth and Dominion Line, left for Wellington last evening. Mr. and Mrs. R. Percy, of Dunedin, Mr. S. Dixon, of Wellington, and Mr. A. E. Smalley, of Eltham. arrived yesterday and are afc the Royal Hotel. Mr. 'E. M. Edwards, of Toronto, an<§ Messrs. Louis Juta and J. J. F. du Toit, of Pretoria, Transvaal, arrived yesterday and are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. R. Hynes, of Napier, who recently arrived from London, is staying at ths Grand Hotel, accompanied by his sisters, Misses Mollie and Vera Hynes. Mr. E. J. Greenstreet, of Christchurch s Mr. C. L. Lock, of Camperdown, Victoria, and Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Douglas, of Cremorne, Sydney, arrived yesterday and "are at the Grand Hotel.
