Dr. Telford, three cases of infantile paralysis have been. located in C'hrietchureh. However, the Christchnrch Hospital authorities, who are treating the children, do not consider tho presence of the disease to bo proved beyond doubt. The cases are a boy of eight, from Papanui, a boy of three from Spreydon, and a girl of seven front Riccarton. BLENHEIM'S FIRST OASE. WELLINGTON CHILD ATTACKED. [bv telegraph, —press association. ] BLENHEIM, Wednesday. Tho first case of infantile paralysis at Blenheim has been notified, that of a Wellington child visiting friends in the town. WANGAFtri NOTIFICATIONS. THREE MORE CASES. [by telegraph.—PßESS ASSOCIATION.] WANGANUI, Wednesday. Three cases of infantile paralysis were reported to-day—two from Wanganui city and one from Hunterville. It is reported that a Maori child has been brought from an up-river settlement suffering from infantile paralysis, and that it has been sent to the hospital. During the last few days there have been persistent rumours of a number of other eases among tho natives. Dr. Gray Stevenson has gone up the river to make investigations. It is suggested that the Health Department should send a special medical officer to every pah to make investigation. In the event of cases developing up the river it is probable that the patients will b« brought down by special launches to prevent them being conveyed, to Wanganui on ordinary passenger boats. NEW AUCKLAND OASES. FIVE MORE NOTIFICATIONS. Three new cases of infantile paralysis in the Auckland health district wore notified yesterday, one being from Takapuna, one 'from North cote, and one from the city. Two additional cases were reported late on Tuesday bringing tho total for January up to 54.
