Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, have received tho following cablegram from their head offlco, London, dated December 18:— W001.—3360 balos were offered, and practically all wore sold. The number of buyers in good. Thoro is good, general competition, with good support from America. Good average quality crossbred lamb, Australian, heavy 12d, light 13d; good averago quality crossbred mutton, Australian, heavy Bd, light B|d. The demand is good. Practically no New Zealand lamb or Canterbury mutton is available on spot. Owing to the approach of tho Christmas holidays trade is dull, CHICAGO WHEAT QUOTATIONS. Australian and N.Z. Croßabrods advanced S to 10 x>*c cent., and others fully' 10 per cent.
