SATURDAY'S COMPETITIONS. THE SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. . TWO THREE-POINT WINS. Q.he Auckland Suburban Cricket Association's matches were continued on Saturday, Ponsonby, Harbour Board. United Suburbs, und R. v. each registering a win. The highest scorers during the day were Breese (Harbo:x Board) '75, Catterall (Ponsonby) 67 not out, and Gedye (Ellerslie) 54. Y.M.C.A.'S NARROW DEFEAT. The game between Harbour Board and Y.M.C.A. res cited in an exciting win for the former te&m by three runs. Y.M.C.A. knocked up 219 in their firßt innings on the previous day's play, and on Saturday Harbour Board lost nine wickets for 197. Faced with the responsible task of scoring 23 to win, Richardson joined Hutchison, xhe latter gradually reduced the Y.M.C.A. lead, and scored the winning stroke, his wicket falling three runs later. A GOOD WIN FOR PONSONBY. Ponsonby opened in their match v ith Post and Telegraph, and secured the g<od tally of 172, to which Poßt and Telegraph replied with 121. Commencing their second innings on Saturday with -to lead of 61. Ponsonby notched a further 136 runs, and then declared, with the loss of seven wickets. Cattorall contributing a well-played G7 not out. Pest and Telegraph replied with 72 for seven wickets, the remaining players being absent.
