PRESENTATIONS.

At the breaking-up ceremony at the- . Leamington School, Cambridge, opportunity was taken to bid farewell to the headmaster, Mr. H. Upton, who has been transferred to Waikino. The chairman of the committee, Mr. C. Care, and the member of Parliament for the district, Mr. F. Lye, eulogised the past work of the headmaster. Mr. Upton was presented with a solid silver ink stand, and Mrs. Upton with a silver cake stand. A handsome wallet was presented to Mr. Upton by the senior pupils, while ths scjiool committee handed him a letter of appreciation for the services he- h&d rendered. The scholars and teachers of the Cambridge District High School gathered to bid farewell to the , headmaster, Mr. Griffith Jones, who is leaving to take up a similar position at Grafton. The scholars presented Mr. Jones with a , travelling rug, also a set of china tea cups for Mrs. Jones, one of the senior pupils, Hilda Moorhouse, making the presentation. The long and valued services rendered to St. George's Church, Frankton, by Mr. J. E. Herbert, who has ieft Hamilton to reside at Thames Beach, were recognised at a social gathering given by the parishioners in honour of Mr. and Mr. Herber*.
