BOROUGH IMPROVEMENTS. [by telegbath.—own correspondent.] TE AROHA. Friday. The Druids Lodge decided to support tho nomination of Bro. "R. Shaw, of Lodge Waikino, for the office of district president. A gold medallion was presented to Bro. W. G. Kennedy in recognition of his 14 years' service as a Druid. A successful concert was given ?.t Manawaru by the pupils of Mrs. F. A. Jennings in aid of the Plunket Society. The Borough Council has obtainofl authority from the Government to raise, a £12,000 loan for street improvements, at 6 per cent. Tho Sanitary Committee were requested to report at the next rrj/eeting on the question of having a plan prepared showing the whole sewerage system of the borough. Tenders are to be invited for the new women's rest room to bo built alongside the council chambers. Tho District High School Committee has been informed by the Education Board that its foreman will shortly consult with the committee on the most suitable place for the building of the now school. Tho committee is asking the board to place the now school well up in the list of necessary undertakings.
