INTERCLUB GAMES TO-DAY. FINAL OF MEN'S DOUBLES. Interclub matches will be resumed at the Stanley Street courts this afternoon. The final of the men's invitation doubles, botwoen V. R. and A. C. Johns and Fotheringham and Parker, will also bo played. At tho clubs a busy afternoon should bo spent in completing as many club matches as possible before the holidays. Visiting players who aro competing at the New Zealand championships, commencing in Auckland next week, will have an opportunity of practising at tho Stanley Street courts tins afternoon. Six of tho nine courts will bo used for the interclub matches and the remaining three courts will bo at the disposal of visitors. DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIPS. STANLEY STREET PREPARATIONS. Preparations are well under way at/ Stanley Street for the New Zealand chaml pionship meeting, to be commenced there on Boxing Day. The finishing touches are being put on to the stands, which, it is estimated, will hold 1500 persons. The two exhibition courts are in good condition. They have not been played on so far this year, but it is proposed to permit players to practise on them. Similar treatment was adopted with the Davis Cup court in 1920, with a beneficial result. Mr. M. Kean, the secretary, is expected to arrive in Auckland within the next few days. * THE WILDING SHIELD. AUCKLAND THE VENUE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHEISTCHURCH. Friday In response to a request by tho Auckland Lawn Tennis Association the Match Committee of the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association has agreed to the challenge match for the Wilding Shield being played at Auckland between representatives of Canterbury, the holders, and Auckland. Canterbury has held the shield continuously since 1920, Auckland having challenged unsuccessfully on two occasions. The following team will represent Canterbury : — Ollivier, I. R. Seay, I). F. Glanville, and W. L. Sheppard. These players aro ranked first, second, third and fourth respectively, and with tho possible exception of 0. G. Aitken are the province's full strength. Ollivier has been appointed captain.
