ACCIDENT RELIEF SOCIETY.
I TIMBER COMPANY'S STAFF. j J The annual meeting of the Accident liej lief Society of Employees of the Kauri ] Timber Company was held at Ihe social I hall, Fanshawo Street., yesterday. Mr. A. ! Austen, who presided, stated that the membership this year was 181, as against, 1 187 last year. The sum of £126 had been ! paid out for accidents, the, sum last year i being £106. i There' had been 28 accidents during tho ! year, ten ot which were mainly dun to i the. manipulation of machinery. None of these had resulted in loss of life or ; limb. _ ) i Members' contributions amounted .to i £263, and the rebate account to £9. I The year closed with a, balance of £151. Officers were elected as follows: —Secretarv, Mr. it. B. Smyth; treasurer, Mr. j H. Coffin; chairman,* Mr. A. Austen; I committee. Messrs. F. Davie-;. J. Shiress, J. Rosanaski, .1. Downing, W. Patterson.
