WAITEMATA COUNTY.
PROPOSED CASTOR BAY PARK THE WAIRAU BRIDGE. The Waitemata County Council met last Thursday, Mr. F. W. Grigg presiding. The council decided to endorso a proposal to acquire Mr. Goldsboro's property at Castor Bay for a public park and tea kiosk, at a cost of £2000. The matter will bo the subject of a special loan area at Castor Bay, and steps are to bo taken to obtain tho necessary petition. Legal objection to tho erection of the proposed bridge over tho Wairau Creek was received from the Takapuna Borough Council. The engineer and riding member were deputed to take the necessary steps under the Public Works Act to appoint a commission to settle the dispute. A tender of £645 for the erection of a wharf at Silverdale, together with the necessary dredging, was accepted. It was decided to sue for all outstanding rates, and impose the usual 10 per cent,, penalty on the statutory date.
