CALL FOR OFFICERS.

EXPERIENCE IN GREAT WAR.

"WELLINGTON. Thursday.

Applications from those who wish to become officers in the newly-constituted Royal Naval Reserve and Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, New Zealand Division, will now bo received. The numbers at present required for the R..N.R. are small, and it is desired to include some officers with war experience, and some younger officers. The only division of the R.N.V.R. at present to bo formed is that at Auckland. All applicants should therefore reside in that district, and must have had war experience in the late war. In making their applications, it should be stated by candidates whether they wish ty be considered as company officers. Tho regulations, which show the conditions of entry and service, aro now available, and will be sent to applicants who desire to consider the advisability of joining these services with a view to being able to give service to the Empire in time of need.

The appointment of Commander J. R. Middleton. D.5.0., to tho command of the. Royal Naval Reserve, New Zealand Division, was gazetted last month. In regard to other commissioned appointments, applicants must forward their apI plications to the Registrar, Navy Office, j Wellington, and also to Commander Middleton, who will arrange for (hem to interview Commodore Beal, upon whoso recommendation appointments., will be made. 11.M.5. Dunedin, which the commodore commands, is due to arrive at Auckland on Saturday, remaining until ' about January 7. Applicants should there | fore lose no time iu communicating with the officials.
