MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE

[by TELEGRAPH. —OWN" CORRESPONDENT, j HAMILTON. Thursday. The Committee of the Waikato Trotting Club met last evening.

The question of the club making a donation towards the expense of bringing from Auckland the horse Mau-o'-War, which gave an exhibition at tho recent meeting, was discussed, aud it was decided to make a donation of ten guineas.

Tho racecourse inspector reported that the general conduct of the meeting had been very good. He had had occasion to warn only one person to leave. Tho report revived the question of persons barred from entering 011 a racecourse aud members were unanimous in the opinion that the matter had been carried too far and that a person could be warned off for the most trivial offence. It was considered that the question was one for the conference, and it was decided that a remit bo forwarded accordingly. The position of horses visiting the meeting remaining behind for short periods and using the course for training purposes was discussed, and it "was decided not to charge training fees. Mr. Tristram brought up tho matter ot places at tho start nnd said that some horses wero continually placed unfavourably. He moved that tho system should bo "the same us at Auckland. The motion was carried. It was left in the hands of the secretary' to communicate with the Minister for Internal Affairs on the matter of permits for two additional race dtiys. The question of a date and stakes was discussed and a vote was taken as to whether jC IMO or A.'1750 should be the amount allotted. Tho resuh favoured the smaller amount. The Government share from the proceeds of the mating on December 6 was £ lTiVt 7s Gd. while the money distributed among the owners amounted to only i' 1750.
