WAIHI GRAND JUNCTION.

BORING OPERATIONS.

The following cablegram has been sent to the head office of the Waihi Grand Junction Gold Company in London : " No. 2 borehole is now down 393 ft. The ground in the bottom much broken up, necessitating casing of borehole." WAIHI. The following information .has been cabled to the head office of the Waihi Goldmining Company in London :—No. 8 level, Surprise lode: In the crosscut at 42ft. up the rise, and measuring from the south side, the fust 25ft. assays 12s 3d per ton. The next 10ft. assays 39s 9d per ton. No. 11 level. Edward lode, driving south: The ne.it, 27ft. from 773 ft. to 800 ft. assays 13s per ton. The reef is wider than the drive. No. 2 level. Martha lode, driving south-west of the 300 ft. crosscut: The next 200 ft. assays 52s per ton. Part oi the drive is in country rock, and we arc now widening out the level. JN'o. 13- level, Edward lode: On th? east section of the lode the crosscut was continued, and the last 17ft. assays 55s 6d per ton. The full width of the east section is 39ft.. and the average assay value 27.-, 3d per ton. No. 14 leve , north section, of Martha lode: The west drive was advanced 34fr... from 237 ft. to 271 ft. The assay value is Is per ton. The formation is a mixture of quartz and country. South section of lode: The west drive was advanced 35i't. from 225 ft. to 270 ft. The assay value is 3s per ton.
