DAMAGE TO MONUMENT.
AUSTRALIAN TDNNELLERS.
VANDALS USE A CHISEL.

The Imperial War Graves Commission has advised Australia House that the inscription on the tablet commemorating the work of the Australia! Tunnelling Company on the monument on Hill 60 has been considerably damaged. Many letteis have been broken and some entirely removed, evidently with a hammer and chisel.
Inquiries are proceeding, and tho matter has been referred to a committee representative of France and Britain.
