CHRISTMAS APPEAL.
Sir, —May I add one more to the numerous Christmas appeals you so kindly insert in the Herald ? It is on behalf of the wives and families of men in Mount Eden prison. They arc the innocent sufferers for tho misdoing of the husband and father. The Prisoners' Aid Society can do but little in these cases, but letters in my possession show what a help and comfort that little has been. Of one* thing charitable people can be well assured, whatever gifts are sent to mo will bo carefully and wisely used for the benefit, of those of whom it may be truly said, "The sins of the fathers are visited upon the children." E. C. Budd, Newmarket. Hon. Sec.
