MOTOR-CAR RACE MEETING.
MUPiWAI ARRANGEMENTS.
The Muriwai Sports Committee of the Auckland Automobile Association met last evening, Mr. !•'. J. Par re 11 presiding.
'lhe closing date for nominations for the races on Muriwai Beach was fixed for February 3, acceptances to be in ten days later. It was decided to make a deep cutting in the rock leading on to the sand to allow for any tidal alterations of the level of the beach. In order to cope with the traffic, some time ago it, was recommended that the hill approaching the domain be cut, down. Advice received was t () the effect that the work was well in hand and much of the delay in getting cars away after the races would be obviated.
The following nomination fees were fixed:—Nr-vv Zealand Motor Cup, £3 3s; New Zealand Light Car Cup, £3 3s: touring car handicap, £1 Is, and 10s 6d acceptance; junior handicap, £1 Is. and 10s 6d acceptance; ope.i handicap, £1 10s, and 10s acceptance: acceleration test, 10s: ladies' handicap, 10s; Australasian speed record, £3 3s.
