Mr. F. W. Doidge, formerly of Auckland, has been appointed general manager of tho Sunday Express, according to a Press Association cablegram from London.
Mr. Percy J. Watts, manager of Wanganui branch of the Standard Insurance Company, Limited, has been, transferred to tho Napier branch iu a similar capacity.
Mr. mid Mrs. W. ,T. Hyde, of Kaikoura, Mr. J. B. Clifton Mogg, of London, Mr. W. Wainwright, of Sydney, and Messrs. F. W. Grainger and F. E. Foy, of Wellington, are at the Star Hotel.
Mr. G. N. Wilton, of Wellington, liaa been appointed engineer by the Taumv runui Borough Council at the hydroelectric works. The successful applicant is n man with Russian, English and New Zealand experience. Ho holds a commis. sion in the Royal Navy as engineer, and served with tho Baltic submarine service outsido Archartgel from 1918 to 1920.
